In previous years, the party season at Barbarella’s Discotheque traditionally kicked off with the first festival hosted at the nearby The Garden Resort in Tisno. This summer, however, the honour goes to Casabianca.
The Zagreb-based club night arrives in Pirovac on June 26 with a carefully curated lineup of Croatian talent, all of whom will be making their Barbarella’s debut. Joining founder MIMI behind the decks are Split DJ Dea Dvornik and Vodice-born selector Carnero, who will go B2B with DJ Labud.

“The idea came after an incredibly successful Casabianca event at Mala Barbarella in Zagreb late last year. It went so well that we immediately started planning a follow-up with the Garden team,” said the organiser, who launched Casabianca in 2024.
The multidisciplinary project reflects MIMI’s curatorial vision, operating simultaneously as a club night, record label and radio show. Alongside building the platform, he also reached another milestone in his musical journey last year with the release of his debut vinyl EP, Irma’s Disko, on the Casabianca imprint.

MIMI’s debut production, dedicated to his late friend Irma Keresteny, brings together years of studio work and defines the sound of Casabianca: hypnotic, tribal, percussive and deeply personal. The release also features a special remix of the title track by German artist Tolouse Low Trax.
Alongside DJing and music production, MIMI also hosts the Casabianca radio show, which airs once a month on Komrad Radio. It features mixes from international guests and Croatian DJs alike, offering them another opportunity to present their work on a global platform.
The same curatorial logic continues into the night at Barbarella’s Discotheque, where the season opens with a carefully curated lineup of local names. Among them is Dea Dvornik, who performed at the first Casabianca event. Although she is best known within party circles, the Split-based producer is classically trained as a pianist, vocalist and ballerina, with a degree in geopolitics.
After her early steps on the Croatian scene, she moved to Ibiza in 2011 for love, but stayed for DJing. There she found the freedom to fully dedicate herself to music without rules or expectations. Four years later, she relocated to Ljubljana and joined the LuckIsOn collective. She gained wider attention in 2018 with a mix for My Own Jupiter by Uruguayan DJ Nicolas Lutz, which was selected as Mix of the Day by Resident Advisor.

Known for dark, energetic and groovy selections, she has performed at internationally renowned clubs including Fabric, Fold, Closer, Tresor, Watergate, About Blank, Hoppetosse, CdV, Golden Pudel, K4 and SASS. Now based in Berlin, she plays whenever the opportunity arises and is also one half of the ERIS duo alongside Italian artist Enrica Falqui.
While MIMI and Dea Dvornik will each play solo sets, Carnero will team up with DJ Labud. For a member of the Metz Attack collective, this night carries a personal significance, having first encountered the music that shaped his sound at Barbarella’s as a teenager.

Although this will be their first appearance at the Pirovac club, it won’t be their first B2B. Labud has already played several sets with Carnero at Masters in Zagreb, where he also runs his own SMACK! programme. Whenever he steps behind the decks, his sound feels fresh and contemporary, while remaining firmly rooted in his distinctive style.
His record collection spans a wide range of sounds – from dub, electro, bleep-leaning techno and experimental bass mutations to metal. With such a diverse selection, Labud has become synonymous with unpredictability and excellence behind the decks.

The summer edition of Casabianca won’t be the last this year. “We’re planning another party in Zagreb this autumn, again at Mala Barbarella, and we’re also preparing a special New Year’s Eve celebration,” MIMI revealed.
Tickets for the party are available in advance via Ticket Tailor for €20, or €25 on the door.
