Identified Patient returns to Zagreb after eight years, with two regional DJs joining the lineup

After the summer break, U/OFFU returns to Zagreb’s dancefloor. The first edition of the new season takes place on 2 October, with the booth reserved for a familiar guest from Amsterdam – Identified Patient.

Joining the Nerve Collect co-founder at Aquarius will be Croatian artist Ivna Ji, Macedonian DJ Sahara Transport Services, now based in Slovenia, and the resident, Grumen.

U/OFFU: Identified Patient

Behind the Identified Patient alias is Job Veerman, one of the most distinctive figures on Europe’s underground circuit. The Dutch producer is known for unpredictable, genre-fluid sets that move seamlessly between tempos, moods and styles.

Over the years, his sound has drawn from techno, breaks, acid, electro, jungle and dub, held together by a raw edge, high energy and a taste for unexpected combinations. He first began making his mark through releases on some of Rotterdam’s most respected labels.

In 2016, he released The Female Medical College of Pennsylvania on Common Thread, followed by a string of releases on Pinkman and a Split EP on London-based Brokntoys. His relationship with Dekmantel began through the label’s UFO series, with Signals in Snakes arriving in 2019 and Nerve Deposit following a year later.

A new chapter began in 2023, when he launched his own label, Nerve Collect, together with producer Gamma Intel. The imprint debuted with his EP Elevator Music for Headbangers, a six-track release made up of material produced between 2019 and 2022. Bass, acid, jungle, electro, breakbeat and dub run throughout the record, setting the darker, more experimental tone that would go on to become an important part of the label’s identity.

Since then, Nerve Collect has grown beyond the scope of its two founders, bringing in artists including Doctor Jeep, Hassan Abou Alam, Dayzer, Hyas, Ma She, Teqmun and COIDO. The label itself describes its catalogue as music for the “restless mind”, with bass-heavy production, broken rhythms and a genre-defying approach running through its releases.

In parallel, Identified Patient has maintained a close relationship with Dekmantel. He has appeared at numerous editions of the Amsterdam festival and Selectors in Tisno, returning to the UFO series in September 2025 with the Reset EP. Across its four tracks, the release pushes his sound further into the space between bass and techno, pairing glitchy percussion with deep low-end structures and touches of jungle.

The latest release arrived on Nerve Collect in May 2026. Head Fuse features five tracks that once again weave together bass, dub, techno and breakbeat, while retaining his characteristically dark and unpredictable sound.

This is not the Dutch producer’s first encounter with Zagreb: back in December 2017, he was brought to the city by local collective bRAVE. He has also become a regular headliner at Dekmantel Selectors over the past few seasons, returning to Tisno again this August. Grumen had the chance to catch him there once more.

“This was another excellent year in Tisno. By now, it has become something of a ritual pilgrimage, with countless great sets along the way. One of the festival highlights for me was definitely Identified Patient at The Nest. A masterclass, a little straighter than usual this time, and mostly around the 140 BPM mark. Sleaze, I’d say,” the founder of U/OFFU told us.

Grumen also singled out several other artists who left a strong impression on him at the festival: “Fabian and Carnero both delivered great sets. DJ Godfather showed just how much a DJ can pack into a single hour while still sending the floor into a frenzy. Introspekt came through with a killer dubstep heater set, and of course there was the closing set from Jeff Mills, who I’ve always loved catching in that kind of setting.”

Alongside Selectors, the Šibenik DJ also made his first visit to the Dekmantel Festival in Amsterdam this past summer.

“I caught a huge number of incredible sets and spent days enjoying the absolute cream of the scene with a few friends. Some of my favourites were Skrillex b2b RHR, Efdemin b2b Polygonia, Batu and Kode9. The out-of-body experience, and probably the best set I’ve ever had the chance to witness, was Ben UFO b2b Objekt b2b Call Super b2b Pariah. The guys spent hours on the Lighthouse floor showing exactly how good they are and why they’re held in such high regard. It’s hard to put into words. As far as I’m concerned, it doesn’t get much better than that,” he said.

Grumen

Beyond his perspective as a festivalgoer, Grumen also looked back on the summer through his own performances.

“It was a real pleasure to open the main floor at Love International on Saturday and ‘sail’ through ambient, dub and dub techno. The vibe was great, especially in the second half of the set. Those final couple of hours were really special. I’d also single out a five-hour b2b with my friend Mulholland from Bristol, where we moved through all sorts of corners of electronic music. A hugely enjoyable session on the excellent Nettle soundsystem as part of Sea Sound Festival at Martinska.”

Grumen

Alongside Identified Patient, Grumen has invited two female artists from the region to join the next U/OFFU.

Originally from Macedonia and now based in Slovenia, Sahara Transport Services shapes her sound around bass, breaks and dub. In recent years, she has established herself as a regular presence on Ljubljana’s underground scene, frequently playing at Metelkova’s DIY clubs as well as festivals such as Butik and Grounded.

Over the past two years as a solo artist, she has contributed guest mixes to a number of established platforms, including Animalia, Operator, Black Teeth Radio and Mode Radio. Beyond the booth, she is also actively involved in the local independent music scene through her work with MENT, Butik, Radio Študent and Channel Zero.

Rounding out the lineup is Ivna Ji, a Zagreb-born producer who moved to Eindhoven a few years ago. Her live sets are driven by breaks, pronounced percussion and faster tempos, with a raw, hypnotic sound that moves between the dancefloor and the more experimental end of the spectrum.

As she puts it, music can have a powerful effect on the state of mind of both the person creating it and the person listening. She has released music on established labels including Brokntoys, 20/20 Vision and Diffuse Reality. More recently, she co-founded her own label, Parcela, with G13ck, where she released the album Archways in February.
