The new year brings fresh energy to the local scene, including the launch of High Hats. The first edition of this club night will take place on January 31 at Lift club, where organizers Mia and Franko will host Australian producer Ollie Lishman. Their focus is on music and good vibes, so they’ve chosen not to reveal too many personal details.
“High Hats was born from our travels and following the electronic scene abroad, where we experienced a fresher club sound and energy that we felt was missing in Zagreb. We want to bring that experience here and promote a new, fun sound that has proven appealing to a wide range of generations,” the duo behind the project told us.

“Our main motivation is our love for music and the desire to give the audience an authentic experience based on quality sound, dancing, and genuine energy of togetherness, returning to the roots of the scene,” they add.
The German label Hot Meal Records represents a musical direction that resonates strongly with them and shapes the program they want to develop: “That’s why for our first event we chose Ollie Lishman – a smaller, but accessible name that perfectly fits our concept, and in no way falls short in quality.”

Hailing from Melbourne, Ollie Lishman has made his mark on the global scene with an infectious fusion of trance, techno, and groove. He draws inspiration from the techno, hard house, and trance sounds of the 1990s, and his tracks have caught the attention of international peers such as Trym, Marlon Hoffstadt, and DJ Heartstring.
His music has been featured in Boiler Room sets and on stages at global festivals, quickly earning him visibility and opening many doors in the music world. The renowned producer has performed across Australia and Europe, and this will be his first visit to Zagreb.
Following the international headliner, Kali will take the decks, delivering a selection that blends house, tech house, techno, acid, ghettotech, and hard groove. Less than a year ago, the Zagreb-based DJ released her first EP, First Pulse, marking a promising entry into the world of production.
Also on the lineup is Pusmus. The founder of the Underground d.o.o. collective is active on the local scene both as a performer and an organizer. She has warmed up dance floors for major international acts, performed at festivals like Terminal V Croatia, and played live on Vienna’s Rudina radio.

“We want to create events where an intimate atmosphere and a limited number of attendees are a conscious choice, allowing space for a truly immersive musical experience. Quality energy on the dance floor and a sense of togetherness that naturally develops among the audience are very important to us,” the High Hats duo said ahead of their first party.
Although they are just preparing for the premiere edition, Mia and Franko have already planned several events in the coming months: “Our next event is scheduled for April 3, though we’ll keep the details under wraps for now. What we can reveal is that on June 6 we have a confirmed party at Masters, featuring the Berlin duo Surf 2 Glory for an all-nighter. Right now, our focus is on this, while we’re also thinking ahead about our next steps.”
Tickets for the first High Hats are available through the Entrio platform, and will also be sold at the club.
